This Zinfandel offers complex aromas of plum and cherry with just a hint of spicy clove followed by bold flavors of blackberry, raspberry, and plum. Smooth through to the lingering, juicy finish, this wine showcases the classic Zinfandel spice and fruit characteristics for which Amador County is renowned.
The grapes for this Zinfandel were gently hand-picked, de-stemmed, and crushed. The must was cold soaked for one to three days and once fermentation started, the tanks underwent daily rack and return. This process promotes aroma and flavor extraction while lessening the impact of harsh seed tannin. A portion of the wine was fermented using native yeast. All of the Zinfandel was aged in French and American oak for 12 months to develop complex oak aromas that complement the ripe berry and spice flavors of the wine.
This Zinfandel is abundantly comfortable at the holiday table, at a backyard barbecue, or being opened for a celebration of a special occasion.
